Munson and Brothers Singer-Songwriter Competition

Official Contest Rules and Regulations

1. Eligibility
    •    Open to all singer-songwriters aged 16 and up.
    •    Participants must not currently be signed to any record label.
    •    Songs must be original works by the contestant.
    •    Contestants must be available to perform live at Munson and Brothers on the last Saturday in August (August 30, 2025).

2. Entry Requirements
    •    Submit up to three (3) original songs.
    •    Songs must be submitted as audio or video files (mp3, wav, or link to a streaming platform).
    •    Include a brief artist bio and contact information with your submission.
    •    All entries must be received by August 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM CST.

3. Song Requirements
    •    Songs must be original and written by the entrant.
    •    By submitting, entrants agree to allow Munson and Brothers to use submitted songs and performances for promotional purposes in video and recordings (e.g., social media, website, event promotions).
    •    Entrants retain full ownership and rights to their songs. Munson and Brothers will not claim ownership or exclusive rights.

4. Selection Process
    •    A panel of judges selected by Munson and Brothers will review all entries.
    •    Ten (10) finalists will be chosen and announced by August 20, 2025.
    •    Finalists will perform live at Munson and Brothers on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

5. Competition Format
    •    Finalists will perform one warm up song and then the original song chosen for competition during the live event.
    •    Judges and audience feedback will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

6. Prizes
    •    Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners up to $500 for the 1st place winner,$250 for 2nd and $150 for 3rd along with recording time with Arena Studios, Interviews with the Porch Talk podcast and a showcase set of 15-30 minutes at Munson and Brothers Oktoberfest 4th, 2025.

7. Rights and Usage
    •    By entering, contestants grant Munson and Brothers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted songs and live performances in promotional videos and recordings. Songs may and will be recorded at the live competition event for said purpose. 
    •    Munson and Brothers will not own or sell the songs. Artists may continue to use and distribute their songs as they wish.

8. General Conditions
    •    Munson and Brothers reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the rules and or for any reason Munson and Brothers or their judges see fit.
    •    The competition may be subject to change or cancellation at the discretion of Munson and Brothers.
